21 days on Diatomaceous Earth

I’ve received a few questions regarding a cleanse I did using Diatomaceous Earth

My original post was pretty long so I decided to simplify it and put the information in a chart to make it a bit more user friendly.  I also added some extra info.  So here ya go!

First things first, what is it?

Diatomaceous Earth is made from the fossilized remains of tiny, aquatic organisms called diatoms. Their skeletons are made of a natural substance called silica. Over a long period of time, diatoms accumulated in the sediment of rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans. It is used for several things, most notably as a safe pesticide.  It kills bugs by causing tiny cuts in their exoskeleton which leads them to dry out and die.

When ingested it helps clean you out, it is said to kill intestinal parasites.

Some important things to note:

  • FOOD GRADE is a must, ingesting the non food grade version, which is used to treat pools, can kill  you.
  • Do not inhale the powder.  Fill you cup with water first and then add the DE to minimize the powder becoming airborne.
  • Start slow and listen to your body, if something feels wrong stop.  Don’t increase the dosage until your body has become accustomed to the starting amount.

Overall, I experienced healthier hair, less fatigue and an increase in energy, an overall lighter feeling in general.  I also craved sugar less and my body seemed to reject foods that are not good for me such as dairy.

I also took activated charcoal and other supplements randomly through out the 21 days but I am pretty confident that the noted changes below were due solely to the DE.
